This illustatration captures the former home of Sheffield’s iconic sauce, Henderson’s Relish.
Henry Henderson blended the first batch of this famous sauce, at his home, in Sheffield in 1885. It wasn’t until the early twentieth century that the company moved into its factory on Leavygreave Road - where it continued to mix, bottle and distribute Henderson’s Relish from for around 100 years. Though as word of this famous sauce began to spread far and wide, the company outgrew the premises and eventually left it in 2013.
Today, this charming building still stands proudly and will do for generations. But as to what its next use might be, your guess is as good as ours! |
